Notes from the Board

NOTES FROM THE BOARD
Dear Unity Members and Friends,
Well, what do you know, another year has come and gone. For some it’s time to reflect upon the plans and goals which were or were not accomplished in 2018. For others it’s time to start to thinking about what they would like to see happen for themselves in 2019. Every year we have an opportunity to move forward in our lives, doing the work that brings fulfilling results that either we can feel good about or at least lets us be open to experiences we can learn from. For myself, I don’t let any regrets concerning what plans and goals I did not accomplish in the past year affect how I feel in the present. I know that when I trust in Divine Spirit, any “left undone stuff” from the past year has a way of finding completion in the new year. Sometimes my plans and goals take a little longer than a year. Sometimes everything comes together in a matter days. The point being is when I allow myself to let the flow of divine energy to work through me, the manifestation of what is good and right for me is better than anything I could accomplish by myself.
Here at Unity of Missoula we have a wonderful tradition that helps us “measure” how our hopes, dreams, prayers, aspirations, desires, goals and plans worked out from the previous year. As some of us know, at the beginning of each year we write our “Letters to God.” We do this during the first worship service of the new year. At the same time we either have our letter to God from the year before mailed to us or we receive them the Sunday worship service prior to the Sunday in which we write our “new” letter. This experience is quite fascinating. Not only does the past letter reflect what we were thinking about at that time but the letter also verifies whether or not what we wrote came to be manifested in our lives. It also is an indication of how much we have grown spiritually over the course of a year. It is my “New Year Wish” for all of us that our letters result in everyone manifesting their Highest Good during the new year!
The work of the Board of Trustees continues on as we conduct the business of our spiritual community. I would like to give a big “THANK YOU” to Barbara Hollenbaugh for all of her great service work here at Unity. Barbara has resigned her position on the board in order to pursue other interests but will still be active as a fellow congregant. Deborah Persaud stepped in to finish Barbara’s term. Thanks, Deborah!
As we move into the new year I am so thankful for all of the work that our staff, volunteers, musicians and church members contribute to the incredible, wonderful experience that we all enjoy and cherish here at Unity. As we trust in the loving spirit of our Divine Creator, we can be assured that during this new year we will surely HAVE FUN!!
Peace and Prayers,
Jeff Haberman
President for the Board of Trustees
