Retiring President Jeff Haberman's Farewell

Dear Unity Members and Friends,

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven" - Ecclesiastes 3:1

This quote from the Old Testament of the Bible seems to be appropriate given this time of year. Well within the enfoldment of the spring season we start to anticipate the coming of summertime. We sense that "change is in the air".  It also reminds us that the world and everything in it is never in a static state but is constantly changing. Sometimes change is very subtle, other times it catches us by surprise by how quickly changes can occur. And so it is that I find myself in this cycle of change. For the past six years I have had the honor and humble privilege to serve on the Board of Trustees of Unity of Missoula. During these two consecutive three-year terms, of which I have served mostly as your president, I have had the wonderful opportunity to experience and work with incredible individuals who both past and presently serve on the board. I have always held in high regard those who were and are willing to step forward and serve our spiritual community, giving of their time, talents and treasure.  Thank you for all for your service to Unity. I will truly miss being part of the service area that conducts the business of our church. However, I know that the commitment of our present and future board members will continue to lead our spiritual community and reflect the hopes, desires and recommendations and helpful suggestions that the congregation places in the leadership of our trustees.

I have enjoyed exploring the metaphysical truths that I have shared with all of you through the various articles I have written over the course of these past six years. I am truly thankful for my personal spiritual growth in this process. I also have appreciated the warm support from fellow congregants who have given me positive responses to those articles. Also I want to thank Linda Andrus for her ever-enduring efforts in being my editor for those articles as well as the rest of the newsletter. Perhaps I'll do an occasional "guest article" as time goes by. In the meantime I look forward to focusing my energies on the sound ministry and improving the audio/visual aspects of our worship service.

I have faith in the mission of Unity of Missoula. I know in my heart that we are "a radiating center of Divine Love". We have the power within us to create a "sacred space" as a community and that we can carry the "Light of Christ Consciousness" into everything we do or say and everywhere we go. When we come together every Sunday morning, we truly reflect that we are indeed one in unity.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to remind everyone that our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 19th after our worship service. At that time the Trustees will give various reports and will conduct an election for new board members. I urge all our members to attend. If you are not currently a member and would like to become one, please see any board member or Linda Andrus for more information. Be sure to check out our website for past Sunday talks plus any other areas within our church community.

Once again thank you for the opportunity to serve you these past six years.

Peace & Prayers,

Jeff Haberman - Out-Going President for the Board of Trustees
